Many office workers often have to listen to complaints from their boss and senior officials about not being efficient. Maintaining a good working record as an employee is very important as your promotion, resulting in a subsequent increment in your pay is dependent on this fact. Due to a more or less monotonous daily routine in the workplace, many employees start taking things for granted and their efficiency decreases.
Efficiency in office work not only means producing quality output, but also in quick time period. In order to maintain your level of concentration in your office timings and display a balanced personality in front of your seniors and other colleagues, following tips should be followed:
1. Make your work place look neat and clean, as a messy desk with scattered files will not only look ugly but it may waste your time in finding an important file.
2. Concentrating on the job on hand, while you might be laden with many tasks, will also help you complete your load of work easily.
3. You should also check your inbox quite frequently, as you might have an urgent business message.
4. In order to complete work in time, you should delegate your work to your subordinates as this will allow you to produce quick results.
5. Maintaining an organized past record in your cabinets will save your time, whenever you have to seek a past document.
6. Rather than permitting messages to get accumulated, you should prefer to reply these queries promptly which will increase your goodwill among customers.
7. While dealing with your co-workers, you should think of them as your team members and all of you have to work together for mutual success.
8. Looking after one’s personal health and fitness is also very important; otherwise you might start putting on weight while sitting at your desk.
9. Avoid doing personal tasks at your work place as this will damage your reputation in the eyes of the boss.
10. Display friendly attitude towards your subordinates and colleagues but you must not let them cross the line. Be supportive to younger employees but there should be no compromise on quality of work.
