The computers are classified based on many factors and criteria.One of the major criteria for the classification of computers is the size of the computers.On that basis, computers are basically classified into the following four types namely- Micro computers,Mini computers,mainframes, and super computers.Micro computers are the personal computers that we generally use at homes.They are also called by some people as Micros.Mini computers cast a bit more than the micro ones but are far ahead in speed when compared to them.They vary in size from a desk top model to a small file cabinet.They are generally used to cater the needs of multiple users simultaneously.They are called as Minis by many.Mainframes as, the name implies are used on a large scale jobs in organizations and factories.They have enormous storage and other special capabilities.They vary in sizes and performances.They are expensive, but larger, quicker and smarter than their counterparts.They also support multiple users.Super computers belong to the pinnacle of this classification.They are the best in the business.They can perform billions of calculations in an instant.They are used in various fields such as weather forecasting,aircraft designing, and so on.
